The four royals reportedly came together for a long talk after Prince Philip’s funeral at the weekend. The Duke of Sussex returned to the UK last week to attend the funeral, after relocating to the US last March. It was the first time Harry has been seen in public with the Royal Family members in over a year.
The royals met up at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s former Windsor home, Frogmore Cottage.
A royal insider told The Sun that Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, who have been living at the Windsor cottage, “made themselves scarce as Harry, William, Kate and Charles hammered things out”.
The source added: “Harry obviously felt outnumbered as there are three of them and only one of him so wanted it to be on his home turf.
This may be the end of the crisis in their relationships and it’s a good gesture and a nice way to take the first step towards healing.
“William, Kate and Charles all left after about two hours, which was long enough for the process of getting father and brothers talking again to start.”
Relations between the Sussexes, the Cambridges and Prince Charles have reportedly been tense since Harry and Meghan’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Last month, the Sussexes sat down with the US chat show host to discuss their decision to step back as senior members of the Royal Family.
Harry told Oprah he felt “really let down” by how Charles had handled his decision to leave the UK and step back from royal duties with Meghan.
The brothers were supposed to walk apart at their grandfather’s funeral separated by their cousin Peter Phillips. Peter however was diplomatic and dropped back a pace so that in fact they walked side by side behind the coffin of the Duke of Edinburgh.
Before the funeral, Buckingham Palace explained they would not be drawn into “perceptions of drama”.
A Palace spokesman said: “This is a funeral, we’re not going to be drawn into those perceptions of drama, or anything like that, this is a funeral.
“The arrangements have been agreed, and they represent Her Majesty’s wishes, so we’re not going to say anything more on that.”
